Did you know there are more than 70 Phoenix-metro eateries that accept both people and pets as patrons? No matter what part of the Valley you’re in, you can be sure to find a favorite spot for both you and your pooch.

Here are a few dog-friendly restaurants on our radar this month – best part is, all of these are locally owned and operated!

For the Hiker…

23335 N. Scottsdale Road, Suite D-105

PNPK, named in homage to the nearby (and similarly dog friendly) Pinnacle Peak Mountain, is a full-service restaurant and wine bar featuring craft sliders and shareable bites as well as local and regional beers and cocktails. Open daily from 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., PNPK boasts a 800-sqaure-foot dog friendly patio that is accessible from the walking path off Scottsdale Road and provides plenty of water and shade for your pooch to unwind while you un“wine”!

For the Wine Lover…

4750 N Central Ave #140

Central Phoenix neighborhood bar Rott N’ Grapes was inspired by owners Patty Gii and Keith Shank’s two greatest loves: wine & Rottweilers! The couple has rescued several Rotties over the years (their current fur babies Onyx & Dolcetta are the slobbery faces of the brand) and regularly supports HALO Animal Rescue through various fundraisers.

Not only does Rott N’ Grapes feature a dog-friendly patio, four-legged patrons are also welcome in the indoor game room, an air-conditioned space that pet lovers will flock to in the hot summer months (and to try the robust selection of more than 70 wines)!

For the Early Riser…

4233 N Scottsdale Road

690 South Mill Suite 110

Morning Squeeze is a breakfast and lunch spot that welcomes all wagging tails! The newly-opened Tempe location has one of the largest dog-friendly patios in the area, plus they feature a menu JUST for dogs! The “Tail Waggers” section features items like the Chow Hound Scramble, Pup Cake and Doggy Biscuits and Gravy — all for only $4. How cute is that?

For the Custom Craving…

384 North Gilbert Road Suite 106

Grubstak’s convenient location in the heart of downtown Gilbert’s Heritage Marketplace is accessible directly off the Western Canal Path, making it a perfect destination to stroll to with your dog. Their pup-friendly patio provides ample water, shade and people watching – plus, with their large-portioned, customizable “Stak” creations (think waffle fries piled with your choice of meat, veggies & sauces, customized to your liking) you’ll likely be leaving with a doggie bag!

For the Fancy Pooch…

10050 North Scottsdale Road, Suite 127

While you may not be able to take your dog on a European vacation, Europe can come to your dog at Sonata’s Restaurant in Scottsdale! This swanky spot serves up hi-end Eastern European dishes (inspired by the owner’s native Lithuania) with modern twists. Now is you can finally experience fine dining without leaving Fido behind – not only is their patio pet-friendly, Sonata’s offers water and treat bowls. Perfect for date night…with your dog!
